We offer birth announcements and a video to introduce your brand new baby to the world, and are a one stop shop so you can get your baby’s album in your hands (before they graduate from pre-k, believe me I get it, life is busy!) We offer custom wall art for your home, Christmas gifts for grandma and simple options to make it all easy and laid back. Don’t worry, we’ll even be in touch to remind you when it’s time to schedule baby’s milestone sessions & cake smash right in time for those first birthday invitations!
Instead of handing over a CD of images that often gets lost or broken, or that quickly becomes outdated inaccessible technology, we’ll help you get your photos on display with done for you solutions to make life simple.
How Does This All Work?
We’ll Start With A Consultation
Either at the studio or via video call, we’ll discuss everything from what to expect during your session, how to prepare, and your style. I want your photo session to be simple and easy for you, but also a true reflection of who your family is. So, before I get going on the details of planning it all out for you and gathering props, I’ll need some info on who you are, the things you love, and your favorite colors to decorate with.
The Session
Sit back and relax while I take care of creating beautiful memories for your family. For newborns this means simply bringing yourself and baby, be on standby for feedings, but otherwise, give me that sweet baby and let me do my thing. For family sessions you’ll be a little more involved, but just relax and have fun, authentic loving moments make the best photos!
The Viewing Appointment
After your portrait session we will meet again to view your images. We’ve found that when given digital images, most clients take them home, put them somewhere safe, and hardly ever get around to looking at them again. It’s not only a waste of your time and money, but can be seriously stressful thinking about that task on your to do list that’s never checked off. I can’t tell you how many first birthday sessions I’ve done and mom tells me how guilty she feels that their baby’s newborn photos are still just sitting on a computer, or worse yet the digital files are missing or damaged! I hear it all of the time.
I’m here to help you choose the sizes, photos and medium that will best compliment your home, and style. Snap a quick photo of your wall I can even show you what your image will look like life size in your own space.
Our portrait clients typically spend between $500-$2000 on print images.
We suggest printing anything larger than a 5x7 through our studio for heirloom quality, but don’t worry you’ll also have social media images to share your beautiful memories with the digital world.
Can I take photos during my session?
Typically, no. For family sessions especially cake smashes, we don’t want distractions or separate flashes going off and pulling attention from the camera. Behind the scenes newborn photos are always welcome.
What if I can’t afford it all right now? Are payment plans available? How about gift certificates?
We offer gift cards and registries so that familiy and friends can choose to contribute to your photo purchases in leiu of a traditional baby registry, as well as payment plans. Please allow 2-4 weeks for production once your payment plan is completed.
Can you drop ship my order? I live out of the area.
Yes, a large portion of our clients live in other states and are vacationing in the Destin area. For this reason we do offer shipping, however we don’t drop ship items straight from our lab partners. We want to ensure quality, so every wall art or print item first comes to the studio for inspection before delivery to you. For our local customers this means studio pick up, or home delivery within Destin depending on your order, for out of town clients we will ship your items to you. Please notify the studio within 7 days of any issues with the photos once you have received them so that we can get it resolved for you.
How long do you store my digital files?
Your digital files are available for download for 30 days, after that we archive them, at which point there is a $25 un-archival fee.
Can I just get a CD of my images?
Technology is changing. When is the last time you used a floppy disc, does your computer even have a disc drive anymore? Mine doesn’t. I was searching for a few old photos from high school recently and found out that all of the digital files on my old computer are corrupted and no longer readable. I was so disappointed, thankfully I have printed copies. The printed image doesn’t go out of date, we’ll help you create heirloom pieces that your family can enjoy for generations.
I printed my photos at Walmart/ Walgreens/CVS/Shutterfly and they look awful! What happened?
We can not guarantee prints from third party print labs as they are not necessarily calibrated correctly or often, part of my education was in darkroom and print developing, learning about the very specific chemicals, temperatures, and photo mediums that result in an heirloom-quality print or canvas. That is why we suggest printing any large pieces through our studio so that we can check the quality, and ensure the work with our partner labs. We have chosen specific professional-quality photo labs that our computers and equipment are calibrated for, that way you won’t have any weird color casts or have to worry about your baby’s photos fading or losing color as you do with many consumer labs.
I like to do DIY projects for our family at the holidays, can I get the digitals and print them on my own for that?
Absolutely, any images that are included in your collection have a print release up to 8x10 unless otherwise stated, that should be more than sufficient for any at home projects. We also offer a wide array of gift prints, just ask and we’ll be more than happy to share our print products with you.
Do you shoot….
I have chosen to specialize in working with newborns, maternity and small children; with studio and vibrant beach portraits. No one can be a jack of all trades and be the best at the same time! I choose to specialize so that I can hone my skills and offer you the best quality. We have multiple photographers in our studio, so if you are interested in a photography session you don’t see listed here, just ask, if it is not something that I, or one of our photographers can do for you, we are more than happy to refer you to some talented local photographers here in town that may be able to better assist you.
Wedding Photography?
That’s a tricky question, while I do shoot some weddings, I will refer you back to my specialties. I love shooting vibrant beach photography, so if a gorgeous sunset beach wedding is what you have planned, then give me a call. Our studio takes only 1 wedding per month to ensure availability when newborns arrive and adequate family time while I have little ones at home. I know of some great people that will be able to beautifully document your day, then head on back over to me when you have a baby bump!
Birth Photography?
YES! I love all things baby from bump to arrival, Fresh 48 & studio newborn photos. Birth photography is on the list, being a birth photographer requires someone who can be on call and flexible, so we make lots of contingency plans including having a second photographer on call should the need arise. Due to the unpredictability of birth photography, we only book a limited number of due dates per month.
Drone Photography or Videography?
No, drone photography requires a license to run a drone for business purposes, ask before you hire someone! We do have 2 local photographers that we can refer you to though.
Real Estate Photography?
Yes, we offer real estate photography, we would be crazy not to in this are right?!? We are fully equipped and trained to offer the angles and style that will flatter your home, condo, or corporate building for whatever real estate purposes you may have. Videography?
I do not, you may see some clips during sessions, but those are for behind the scenes purposes only.
